About UsActive Minds at Brock University was first ratified in October of 2010. We are the 290th chapter of Active Minds Inc and are 1 of 6 chapters in Canada.
Active Minds Inc. is an organization dedicated to raising awareness of mental health and suicide among college and university students. School chapters participate in fundraising and events to help raise awareness of mental health issues among students, and also to help eliminate the stigma of mental illness. Our two main goals are to educate students about mental illnesses and decrease the stigma that surrounds them! MeetingsThe meeting time and location for Winter 2017 is listed below. The type of meetings will alternate between traditional and fun. Check Facebook regularly in case of any meeting cancellations or changes. What We Do |
Throughout the year we plan events, campaigns, and do tabling all to raise awareness for mental health. Events we hold each year are Speak Out Nights, which occur biannually, and Break the Ice. For more details on those and other events this year see our Events & Campaigns page.
We also plan and promote campaigns that feature unique ways of engaging the student community. We do tabling to promote our events and also for weeks such as eating disorders awareness week and wellness week. There are fun activities that we incorporate into this so feel free to stop by when you see us around. |
